A financial services company was interested in partnering with Troutman Pepper attorneys on pro bono projects supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
We worked with the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund to support its Name Change Project. TLDEF provides a Trans 101 CLE course to Troutman Pepper attorneys and our client’s in-house team, and then refers cases of individuals who need assistance securing a legal name change.
We’re in our second year with TLDEF and our client. For each case referred to us, a member of our client’s in-house team partners with a Troutman Pepper attorney to provide pro bono help to low-income transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary people seeking name changes.
