A utility company was updating its outside counsel preferred provider program to incorporate the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) objectives. The client invited us to help brainstorm DEI best practices for corporate legal departments.
During the day-long meeting, we shared examples of DEI partnerships that have added value for Troutman Pepper clients and provided meaningful career development opportunities for diverse lawyers. Examples ranged from establishing DEI benchmarks, to DEI-focused mentoring, to partnering on DEI-focused pro bono projects.
